For this personal project, I recreated a classic level from an old video game for a new VR game. It was very well received by the community with over 250k+ downloads.
The bulk of the map was already ‘there’ inside a 3d file found online, but everything was exported as one huge mesh with 150+ textures applied to it, and the mesh had all kinds of problems preventing it from being usable in a game engine. I had to clean up the polys (a lot), move objects around, and export parts of the mesh to use as props. Overall the process took about 3 months, and I’m pleased with the outcome.
